It is situated just south of the Roman Road, Watling Street, on the banks of the River Cray
The old, traditional part of the town is known locally as 'bexley Village'
Parts of St. Mary's Church in Bexley date back to the twelfth century. The Domesday Book mentions an earlier church on the site
Bexley's St. John�s Church was founded as a proprietary chapel of St. Mary�s n 1878. Today, the building has a Grade II listed srtatus
